BLM-DK presents Black Coffee Tuesday

December 10th 2019

BLM-DK are organizing black coffee tuesday.

The description on their facebook page is as follows: A cozy space for People Of African Descent(PAD) to meet and chat.

Come join us between 14 and 19..20ish! We’ll be at the long table.

Bring your PAD friends; the more the merrier.

If you wish to volunteer with a 1 hour segment of a shift please approach the team. ♥ Otherwise you are also just welcome to chill.

We occupy the long table closest to the bar. The 100% non-profit cafe is a house run by non parliamentary left wing volunteers where racism, homophobia, xenophobia is actively opposed and challenged.
Accessible with ramp.

Afro film fest

January 11th 2019

It's time to create a platform for Afro-Danes where we can showcase our films in a collective environment. A space where one feels a value and understanding of ones art.
This film fest will be showcasing films made by Afro-Danes and Africans from South Africa, Zambia and Tanzania.
We want to create a space where people of African decent and other nationalities can gather and form a community where we can appreciate our african roots through film.

PROGRAM:
15:00: Doors open
15:15: Opening speech

15:30: Documentary Films
17:30: Discusion and Comments
18:00 Break + Voting

18:30: Short Films
20:00: Discusion and Comments
20:30: Break and Voting

21:00: Art Films
22:00: Discusion and Comments
22:30 Break + Voting

22:45: Party
01:30 or whenever: Finish

After each category, there will be a discussion about the films' topics where all should feel free to express themselves and talk about topics that are not so often talked about.

In the breaks, people will be allowed to vote for the film they loved most. The votes will counted and a winner for each category will be selected.




TICKETS:
You are able to buy tickets for each category or full day tickets. You can also just come for the party which will be donation based.

Full day tickets: 222 kr

NB: please contact me if you need help with funding: I need my people there.


The festival wants to make room for other Afro Danes to showcase other kinds of art: including paintings, jewellery and various. Please contact me if interested in any of these.


KAYAMAYI FOOD will be providing African-inspired finger food and street food during the breaks.


PARTY
There will be Dj's with afro tunes to ensure your waist to move and cocktails inspired from the motherland.


WE ARE ALL FROM AFRICA AND TO AFRICA WE ALL SHALL RETURN......a least for this one day.

Afro Dance Workshop with Petit Afro (Petit Bagaza)

December 7th 2019, between 14:00 and 16:00.

This is your opportunity to learn your afrobeat basics with one of the best teachers in Europe. Afro dancer and choreograph Petit Afro (Petit Bagaza) accepted to come to Copenhagen from the Netherlands and teach one of his amazing choreographies!

He makes, with his work, the Afro dance available for all, regardless of age, gender, level and background. All are one, moving in the afro rythm & sharing the same passion.

Few facts about Petit Afro:

* 1,2M Youtube subscribers
* 229 Thousands Instagram followers

Afrobeat is an African pop music, its dance is dynamic, but while following the mood of the music the moves are often smooth and rounded.

By the end of the workshop you will know a bunch of popular steps and moves, you will know an easy-to-follow choreography, and you will fall in love with this style.

The workshop is about 1,5h long. An open class for literally everyone. It’s for you even if you’ve never had learned any dances or if you would like to strengthen your afro dance basics.
